First off I am very pleased to announce that we have been nominated for TWO Northern Ontario Music Awards in the Best Album category as well as Best Songwriter for “Singing Knives”, we’re very very excited to head to Sudbury at the end of April

Secondly we are EXTREMELY excited to announce the release of a brand new 6-song EP entitled “Lives In Between” on May 1st! I produced this EP, Rory, along with our friend Brian Babcock, engineered and mixed it, and our good pal Gavin Gardiner (of the Wooden Sky) mastered it. This is the first release with the brand new lineup, Kyle Woods on drums & JF Beauchamp on Trumpet, along with Rory Lewis & Théan Slabbert!

There was no way for Anchors to ever reach the amount of people the video reached, so our hope was that if people liked the video they would also like our record, they could download it, and hopefully become a fan of the band. A few weeks later and now we can say that the plan has really worked. Anchors has reached far more people than we ever thought possible, and for that we are extremely grateful.

Now, we are in the midst of finishing up a new release for 2012 and we’ve come to the same conclusion, that we would rather have people listen to our music than pay for it.

So as of now we are putting all three of our releases for free download at http://soundcloud.com/kalle-mattson and for Pay What You Want at http://kallemattson.bandcamp.com/ . You can still order physical CD’s (and soon to be LP’s!) from Bandcamp and at shows, or use iTunes if that’s your thing. But, we just want you to know you can test the waters before you jump in.

It’s been a very exciting few weeks for us with the release of The Shore/Palm Sunday 7″ and preparations for our upcoming tour with The Details of Ontario and Quebec.

We’ve had over 1500 downloads/streams of The Shore/Palm Sunday 7″ in the two weeks since we launched the tracks online and we’ve received some great reviews and coverage from Quick Before It Melts, Grayowl Point, Soundvat and Snobs Music. Check out those for sure.
