"Broastin'" at CMW/March 20th @ The Rainbow

Hey everyone!

Long time no talk.

Anyways, we’ve been very busy this past week or so, driving to Sault Ste. Marie (via Ottawa, for Jimmie + van + gear), then to Toronto for our set @ The Central for CMW (woot!), then back to Sault Ste. Marie (drop off Jimmie etc.), and now finally back to Ottawa, so we hope you don’t mind the delay in postings.

Well Wednesday night we played our first ever CMW and it was a blast! Played to a packed bar at the Central, met up with a bunch of old friends and met a lot of new ones! Our good pals at Snobs Music have a very flattering review up right here (Guided By Voices meets Bright Eyes, awesome!). A big thanks also goes out to For The Records, iheartmusic, and nxew.ca for helping us out by suggesting us on their sites! Can’t wait to see all you Torontonians again in May for our two dates @ The Drake Hotel (May 17th) and The Horseshoe (May 18th).

In related news, we are very very close to finalizing our last three dates of our 2010 Canadian Tour. We just confirmed some awesome new gigs at The Phog Lounge in Windsor, The Black Sheep Inn in Wakefield as well as an in-store performance at Grooves Records in London, all very exciting! We will be hitting you very shortly with a bunch of other news concerning the tour (possibly a name for it?), wait and see!

We have just confirmed some exciting dates in Sault Ste. Marie, including an April 23rd date at Loplops with none other than Said The Whale! Should be awesome. Also look for some exciting news concerning festivals this summer (including a gig at the Essar Centre?) oh how our parents will be proud…

We also have a show in Ottawa this Saturday at the Rainbow, we’re on at 9pm and we’ll be sharing the stage that night with The Jesse Greene Band, RSVP on facebook here, should be a great night and we hope to see you there!

Well folks thats all for now, keep an eye out on April 1st where we will be starting a little campaign we like to call WHISPER BEE FOR FREE, along with hoards of other exciting news including our two NOMFA nominations! We will now leave you with some record recommendations, we all agreed that we love when other bands do this so I think we will be making it a regular occurrence in our posts.

Talk to you soon and all the best.
